What Is the Ark of the Covenant?
The ark of the contract was a sacrosanct chest made by the antiquated Israelite's as indicated by the order and plan of God. It housed and secured "the Testimony," the Ten Commandments were composed on two stone tablets.
Development. The Ark estimated 2.5 cubits long, 1.5 cubits wide, and 1.5 cubits high (111 x 67 x 67 cm; 44 x 26 x 26 in.). It was worked of acacia wood and was overlaid all around with gold, with an aesthetic outskirt. Its spread, made of strong gold, included two brilliant angels, one at each end. They confronted each other with their appearances toward the spread and their wings expanding upward, eclipsing the spread. The Ark had four rings of cast gold over its feet. Acacia-wood posts overlaid with gold were put through the rings and were utilized for conveying the Ark.
Area. The Ark was at first kept in the Most Holy compartment of the sanctuary, a transportable tent of love that was set aside a few minutes as the Ark. The Most Holy was screened off from the perspective on the clerics and the general population. Just the consecrated minister could enter this compartment, one day every year on Atonement Day, and see the Ark.
Afterward, the Ark was moved to the Most Holy in Solomon's sanctuary
Reason. The Ark was a document for consecrated things that would help the Israelites to remember the contract, or understanding, that God had made with them at Mount Sinai. It likewise assumed a key job in the Atonement Day function.
Substance.
The stone tablets recorded with the Ten Commandments were the main things put in the Ark.
A brilliant container of sustenance and "Aaron's pole that sprouted" were later included.
Clearly, the container and bar were expelled sooner or later, on the grounds that they were not in the Ark when it was moved into the temple.
Transport. The Ark was to be conveyed by the Levites on their shoulders by methods for the acacia-wood posts. The shafts stayed appended to the Ark consistently, so the Levites never needed to contact the Ark. "The screening window ornament" that isolated the Holy and the Most Holy was utilized to cover the Ark while it was being carried.
Imagery. The Ark was related to God's essence. For instance, the cloud that showed up over the Ark in the Most Holy and at Israelite places to stay was an indication of Jehovah's essence and gift. Likewise, the Bible says that Jehovah "[sat] enthroned over the angels," alluding to the two seraphs on the Ark's spread. Therefore, these angels were "the portrayal of the chariot" of Jehovah. On account of what the Ark symbolized, King David could compose that Jehovah was "abiding in Zion" after the Ark was moved there.
Assignments. The Bible uses an assortment of terms for that hallowed chest, including "the ark of the Testimony," "the ark of the contract," "the Ark of Jehovah," and "the Ark of your [Jehovah's] quality.".
The front of the Ark was designated "the propitiatory spread," or "the leniency situate." King James Version) This term alludes to the unique capacity of the spread on the Day of Atonement when the consecrated cleric of Israel would splash the blood of relinquished creatures toward and before the spread. These activities of the esteemed minister made satisfaction for, or secured, sins "for himself and his home and for benefit of the whole gathering of Israel."
Does the ark of the agreement exist today?
There is no proof that it does. The Bible demonstrates that the Ark is never again required in light of the fact that the agreement related with it has been supplanted with "another contract," one dependent on Jesus' penance. The Bible along these lines prognosticated when the ark of the agreement would be no more, yet God's kin would not miss it.
In a dream given to the messenger John after the new agreement was built up, the ark of the contract showed up in paradise. This representative Ark speaks to God's essence and his approval on the new pledge.
Did the Ark fill in as a kind of enchantment fascinate?
No. Having the ark of the contract did not ensure achievement. For instance, the Israelites had the Ark in their camp while doing combating the city of Ai, yet they endured rout as a result of one Israelite's unfaithfulness. Afterward, they were crushed by the Philistines in spite of taking the ark of the contract to the combat zone. That success was because of the mischievousness of the Israelite clerics Hophni and Phinehas. The Philistines caught the Ark in that fight, however, God hit them with maladies until they returned it to Israel.
